Editor's report on this issue
It’s good to hear from our readership - all comments whether positive or negative are helpful. See the letter from Helen Daley
on page 10 regarding Tam Fry’s article in the Spring News on growth measurement. Publication of articles like Tam’s does
not mean that BACCH supports them. I do check accuracy as far as possible. Tam is correct in saying that the Government is interested
in annual BMI measurements for children - a fact it is important for our readership to be aware of. More letters please, about this topic
and others you feel concerned about.
Being editor brings me into contact with a variety of people who work in child health and they share two themes - enthusiasm for the
work they do and not having enough time to do it in. Hence our front cover with its Alice In Wonderland theme. I know CPSIG members will
be thinking that Lewis Carroll's interest in Alice might have needed their attention but he did give us a wonderful insight into how
our complex world may be perceived by children.
How do we maintain our committments to the "Alices" without becoming like the White Rabbit - always in a hurry? I hope that
BACCH News will help a little by keeping you informed of what is going on in community child health.
