Editor's report on this issue
Once again I am pleased with the quality and scope of material in BACCH News. There is something quite magic about the way in which common themes bubble up. Did Fawzia Rahman
writing in Infomatics on page 10 about electronic records know that I would receive an excellent article from Cathy Hill (page 16) about the fate of medical records when children are adopted? Did Dirk Meerstadt realise that when he sent me his piece about the Paediatric Subcommittee of the BMA before Christmas, that Sameena Shakoor would be taking the current problems with study leave to the BMA. See pages 13 and 24.
Another special privilege as Editor is to be able to go up to the Very Important Paediatricians and ask them to contribute to BACCH News. Patricia Hamilton our new RCPCH President told me when we first introduced that she always reads BACCH News. Recently I followed this up by requesting a personal interview. Patricia obviously has a very busy schedule now but set aside time for this. She impressed me by the breadth of her understanding of community issues. Do read these on pages 14 and 15.
You never know what will come from reading BACCH News – Paula McAlinden did and she ended up in New Zealand! See page 26.
Finally after a struggle, I obtained study leave to be at York on the Tuesday of the Royal College meeting. Looking forward to seeing some of you there!
