How to apply for CCT in Community Child Health

Successful completion of a full UK paediatric training programme is marked by the issue of a RITA G /ARCP by the Postgraduate Deanery. For entry to the specialist register at the GMC, the trainee must apply to the RCPCH for confirmation of completion of training (CCT) at CCT@rcpch.ac.uk. Trainees are strongly advised to begin the application process as soon as possible (up to 6 months before CCT date). The College will assess your application and make a recommendation to the PMETB.

Various documents are required in support of such a recommendation, these include:

1. The completed yellow College application form, signed by:
  • Trainee
    Regional Adviser
  • Postgraduate Dean
  • Specialty Training Adviser of CSAC (Community) - contact details available from the BACCH office

For CCH accreditation also fill in the orange counting form and it is helpful to separate out core/ST 4-5 from HST/ST 6-8.
2. All RITAs issued by the Deanery during the training programme.
3. A detailed CV. Information which must be included can be found here. Pay particular attention to competencies, often public health and competencies re hearing and vision are not mentioned Examples of CVs can be found below:

4. Original certificate for the award of:
  • The MRCPCH examination
  • Or recognised equivalent qualification
5. Original GMC certificate
6. Supporting documentation regarding any out-of-programme posts. This may include:
  • Evidence of prospective approval
  • Evidence of satisfactory performance
  • Evidence of any post graduate diplomas or qualifications
