Abstract submissions

Abstracts are a vital part of the BACCH ASM and offer an opportunity for delegates at all levels to share their research at a national conference.

We welcome submissions from members and non-members for oral and poster presentations.

The prizes for best poster and best presentation by a non-consultant will be announced at the end of the event.

Submissions closed on 11th August and decision emails were sent to all on 3rd Sept. Please contact us if you did not receive the email.

Prizes

Child Journal Prize
For the best oral presentation by a non-consultant. The winner will receive £100 and an opportunity for fast track consideration to the journal Child: Care, Health and Development, should they wish to submit a paper to the journal.

Poster Prize
For the best poster at the conference. The winner will receive £100 and the poster will be printed in BACCH News.

Annual Dinner & civic reception

Join us on the evening of 9th October at the National Piping Centre in Glasgow for the 2024 Annual Dinner and dance.  All welcome to book: delegates, partners and local non-delegates.

  • 6.45-7pm: arrival (bagpiper welcome)
  • 7.00 pm: welcome & drinks - civic reception hosted by Bailie Hoy (representing the Lord Provost of Glasgow)
  • 7.45 pm: three-course dinner
  • 9.30 pm: ceilidh dance
  • 11.30pm: last orders at the bar

Booking for dinner is now closed.  There may be spare tickets available on the day - ask at the registration desk during the conference.

  • In person: lectures, abstract presentations, afternoon workshops, posters, annual dinner and catch up with colleagues
  • Virtual: lectures and abstract presentations only

Bookings

  • Use the form below to book delegate places and tickets for the annual dinner & dance
  • There is no one-day option for virtual tickets, only for in-person
  • You need to be logged into your user account to buy discounted member-rate tickets (Not a member? You can join BACCH today)
  • The medical students/FY doctors rate is only available for members – if you are not a member, please apply to join for free and once you application is approved you can book at the discounted rate
  • Bookings deadlines:
    - in-person tickets: booking now closed
    (all registered in-person delegates were sent the final details email on 1st Oct, please contact us if you didn't receive it)
    - Annual Dinner: booking now closed
    - virtual tickets: booking now closed
    (final details emailed to all registered virtual delegates between 12.15-12.30 on Monday 7th)
  • We do not issue invoices: payment needs to be made using the online form - the booking and payment confirmation emails act as your receipt
  • If you have any queries, contact the BACCH Office.

Cancellations & refunds

  • No refunds will be given for non-attendance or cancellations received after 27th September for in-person tickets and annual dinner, or 4th October for virtual tickets 
  • Cancellations received prior to this date will be eligible for a full refund, minus card processing fees, please contact us via email.
  • Delegates may make arrangements for a substitute to attend in their place at any time with no cost incurred by contacting the BACCH office.
