Following discussion at the March 2021 meeting of BACCH Executive, it has been agreed to offer the option for new members to allow BACCH to claim Gift Aid on their membership payments - all new members will now be offered the option to sign up when joining.
We are also keen for current members (who are UK tax payers) to sign-up too. You can do this either by:
- Option 1: Updating the details in your BACCH membership user account
- once logged in, go to ‘contact details’ and scroll down to the Gift Aid option near the bottom of the page
- Option 2: If you don't have a user account on the website, you can sign the Gift Aid declaration via this form and we will update your membership details for you
Introducing Gift Aid means that BACCH will no longer be on the HMRC ‘list 3’ (Approved professional organisations and learned societies) which enables members to claim tax relief on their subscription payments. Therefore, you will NOT be able to claim tax relief via this method on your BACCH subscription for any payments taken after 31 May 2021. Please note that higher rate tax payers will still be able to claim some tax relief on their fees.
We realise this change will be a disappointment to some members but it will increase our income to allow us to better support members and develop our work to improve the lives of our patients and families. Like many other organisations, our income has been significantly affected by the pandemic.
